{"id":1184,"date":"2021-10-23T16:14:22","date_gmt":"2021-10-23T20:14:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/derfmagazine.com\/home\/?p=1184"},"modified":"2021-10-23T16:26:08","modified_gmt":"2021-10-23T20:26:08","slug":"corpse-found-wrapped-in-keep-america-beautiful-banner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/derfmagazine.com\/home\/lifestyle\/corpse-found-wrapped-in-keep-america-beautiful-banner\/","title":{"rendered":"Corpse found wrapped in KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL banner"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON, D.C.<\/strong> &#8211; Workers at the National Center for Urban Renewal discovered a corpse this week in the alley behind the building wrapped in a large <strong><em>KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL<\/em><\/strong> vinyl banner.<br><br>Although authorities say it is common for murder victims to be wrapped in material such as carpet or plastic sheeting, this is the first known case of body found wrapped in such an ironic material.<br><br>Executive Director of the Keep America Beautiful campaign, Linda Holterhoff commented, &#8220;Associating our banners with dead bodies is a setback for our program. We urge America&#8217;s murderers to use other materials for wrapping dead bodies. Our banners are intended to represent positive civic action.&#8221;<br><br>To raise awareness of this issue, Holterhoff has ordered new banners for a secondary campaign entitled, &#8220;<strong>Don&#8217;t Wrap Dead Bodies in Keep America Beautiful Banners<\/strong>.&#8221; The banners for this campaign will be displayed prominently in cities throughout the United States.
